The Stone of Anointing / Unction
The Stone of Anointing / Unction, located in the entrance hall of the church, is where Jesus' body was placed and prepared for burial. Pilgrims who travel all the way to Jerusalem and pass the via dolorosa, kneel and kisses the stone and place their belonging above it in order of them to the blessed since the stone possess healing powers according to the Christianity belief.
"Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury" John 19:40.
